Rules and Assessment Criteria

 

Work requirements

All submitted works must have been produced in the current academic year by active students on campus in Bergen, Kristiansand, Oslo or Stavanger. Work done outside of mandatory assignments is also permitted.

Originality requirements
The submitted work must be original and produced by active students in Noroff, both individuals and groups. Work where the idea is, intentionally or unintentionally, largely copied by other people’s works, Norwegian or foreign, should not be submitted.

Legality requirements
Submitted work that is in breach of Norwegian law, cannot take part in the competition. This applies in particular to the use of copyrighted material.

Work that does not satisfy requirements.
Submitted work that do not satisfy any of the requirements, shall not be assessed by the jury.

 

Assessment Critearia

All submitted work will be assessed according to the following assessment criteria:

Submission
Has the work been submitted in accordance with the submission criteria and within the correct deadline?

The task’s degree of difficulty
The submissions must be assessed based on the difficulty of the task. How big was the challenge the contributor faced?

The solution
How strong is the submitted work. To what extent does the contribution impress?
How original is the contribution?

Quality/Craftsmanship
How is the quality of the submitted work?

Jury

Local jury
The jury for local awards is the local academic staff for the category in question. It is recommended that at least one external jury member is also invited, either from subject groups on other campuses, or from the industry.

National jury
Jury for national awards is determined by the academic staff for the category from all campuses and organized by subject manager/program manager.

The jury must consist of at least one member of staff from each relevant campus and, in addition, one external member from industry.

The subject manager/program manager will act as head of the jury and will be responsible for ensuring that all submitted work are assessed according to the rules and assessment criteria.

Shortlist and winner
From the works submitted, a maximum of 4 shortlist nominations will be selected in each category, which will be presented as nominees and a winner will be chosen from these.

Justification
The jury’s decision must be justified in writing and this decision will be published on the websites and at the award ceremony

Cases of doubt
All cases of doubt are decided by the head of the jury.
